A total of six lots made €200,000 or more during the second day of the Goffs Arkle Sale Part 1, and top of the heap was Noosa Sport (No Risk At All).

The three-year-old filly sold to Gordon Elliott Racing for €240,000. Consigned by Liss House, lot 320 is a full-sister to G3 Prix Romati Chase heroine Geelong Sport (No Risk At All) and a half-sister to G1 Prix Maurice Gillois Chase victor Leader Sport (Nirvana Du Berlais).

The day's highest priced gelding was Okekoko (Cokoriko) (lot 350) who went to Harold Kirk and Willie Mullins for €210,000. His dam, Café Blum (Muhtathir) is a half-sister to Grade 1 winner Top Of The Sky (Kahyasi), as well, as well as to the dam of fellow Grade 1 winner Coko Beach (Cokoriko). He was offered by Treannahow Stables.

Metrics were up almost universally across the board. For Part 1 of the Arkle Sale, 368 sold from 416 offered (88%), an increase of 4% on 2025. The gross rose to €24,001,500 (+28%), while the average and median each rose 22% to €65,222 and €55,000, respectively.

For the two-year-old portion of the sale, 16 sold from 25 offered (64%)–a drop of 6%–for a gross of €1,068,000 (+27%). The average also rose 27% to €66,750 and the median rose by 66% to €65,000.

Goffs Group chief executive Henry Beeby said, “Gratitude. That is the overriding emotion of the Goffs Team following Part 1 of the 2026 Arkle Sale. In the first instance, thank you to our vendors for the trust they have placed in the Arkle Sale as we've always said we are nothing without the horses. As I said at the start of the week, this is the best bunch of NH horses ever assembled at Goffs and happily the market agreed with huge rises in all the metrics once again and no less than nine lots hitting the €200,000 mark, up from three last year along with 63 realising six figures compared to 29 in 2025. That's some progress and the other big numbers are the turnover, the average, and the median all of which are by our reckoning the highest of any store sale in history.

“Our second vote of thanks goes to our purchasers who turned up and bid with intent from yesterday morning to the close of business this evening. We also want to express our appreciation to Defender for their support over a thirty-year period. They help make the Arkle Sale truly unique whilst we are always indebted to the team at Irish Thoroughbred Marketing for their hard work and assistance.

“I think the other sentiment to express is one of immense pride. I find it hard to express the pride we feel in the progress this sale has made in recent years which is, of course, principally down to our clients but also our passionate, driven and friendly team who will always go that extra mile to deliver and take a pride in exceeding expectations. I'm proud to be part of that team and we're all proud of our Arkle Sale.”
